A culinary mashup of global cultures and gourmet innovation
Since the inception of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, the running length has increased due to its rave review and high anticipation. In fact, this year’s Epcot Food & Wine Festival will be the longest-running one ever — beating last year by an extra 12 days and will run from August 29 to November 23.
The annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is always a fall favorite with grown-up Disney guests. But there are family-friendly offerings too – such as a daily Disney Junior Dance Party, candy sushi-making and Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt. Disney does it right to make sure there is always something for everyone to enjoy.
If you’ve never been, the festival is comprised of dozens of booths and with special offerings set up all around Epcot. There’s no separate admission fee for the festival beyond your Epcot ticket, though food and drinks of course cost extra.
Prices of drinks vary, and the appetizer-sized portions typically range in price from $4.00 – $8.00 and provide the perfect opportunity to try traditional cuisine from around the world. Many items are also available for a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
There are 11 permanent country pavilions to visit around Epcot’s World Showcase, during this particular festival there are more destinations represented. In total, the 2019 festival will bring 30 marketplaces to Epcot.
One new addition this year is The Appleseed Orchard Marketplace, located in Canada, which will feature apple-inspired beers, ciders and cocktails. The wines, brews and ciders can be enjoyed as a one-off or as part of a flight. If you’re hungry, there will be a selection of charcuterie and cheese boards. An added noteworthy plus… this marketplace is indoors with air-conditioning.
Another new spot will be an Alps Marketplace, where you will find offerings such as raclette swiss cheese with baby potatoes, venison stew and to beat the heat… frozen Rosé!
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival hosts seminars, tasting events, and delicious meals overseen by top Disney Chefs as well as renowned guest Chefs, such as, Rick Bayless, Robert Irvine, Masaharu Morimoto and Buddy Valastro – to name just a few.
There are special musical artists during the festival as well, including the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, BBMAK, Tiffany, Boyz II Men, Kenny G, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
